The Wellness Councils of the Midlands (WELLCOM)

 

The Wellness Councils of the Midlands (WELLCOM) is a non-profit organization, founded in 1982 by William M. Kizer and a group of local business leaders in Omaha, Nebraska. WELLCOM partners with employers to deliver wellness programs that impact employee wellbeing and wellness, strengthen the culture and drive business results. WELLCOM fulfills this mission by working with businesses to enhance health improvement efforts, providing resources and guidance, and assisting with program evaluation. The Council also works with local agencies to promote healthy lifestyle opportunities in the community. WELLCOM serves hundreds of employers throughout the Midwest. They offer programs and events in Iowa and Nebraska, and have a dedicated leadership team ready to help  members. The Omaha Council has served as a model for the formation of Wellness Councils across the country.
