Quantitative data does not typically tell the whole story when looking at the efficacy of a health improvement program. Useful data from various stakeholders, concerning the current program as well as their ideas concerning the future direction of the initiative, can prove to be extremely useful. Therefore, the purpose of a Program Integration Assessment is to gather qualitative data from various stakeholder-group representatives to determine:

• Organizational Health Indicators (OHI) of the program (why the organization is providing a health promotion program)
• Which OHI components are important within specific populations (e.g., departments)
• Why members participate and why non-members do not participate
• What additional programming is desired
• How the program and company rates on 10 key program measures
• Other organization-specific issues

To conduct the qualitative evaluation, structured interviews are completed with

a) program oversight management and their direct-reports

b) senior management representatives who are responsible for determining company strategy

c) department managers or mid-management representatives who are receptive to the program

d) department heads who are not receptive to the program

e) program stakeholders
