Corporate Culture Audit
Work environments
are often not conducive to healthy lifestyle practices, making it difficult
for individuals to achieve improved health with
meaningful results. The Lifegain Health Culture Audit, offered in
conjunction with Dr. Judd Allen, assesses the impact of workplace culture
upon health practices. Results from
the
survey offer insight into which health practices are likely to take
root in the current workplace environment. And, perhaps more importantly,
the Lifegain Health Culture Audit is a valuable tool in planning
the systematic change of those aspects of the culture that fail to
support-or
even interfere with-efforts to adopt healthy lifestyles.
In addition to standard health behavior, demographic, and employment
classification questions, the Lifegain Health Culture Audit measures
four cultural factors
that play major roles in determining which lifestyle changes people attempt,
and whether or not they succeed. These are: (1) shared values; (2) cultural
norms; (3) peer support; and (4) organizational support. Examined together,
these measures reveal the impact of the work culture on its members'
health behavior. |
